Montpellier! A day off and a night out with the Missus. Maybe the best meal I have ever had in a restaurant here and the black run of cycle touring, the Pyrenees, complete!

I have lost count of the number of Cols (mountain passes) bagged, and I missed the very last few due to time, but it is done. A swim in the Atlantic, crossed the Pyrenees and a swim in the Mediterranean. Without a doubt the most physically demanding accomplishment I have ever and may ever achieve. A thought that kept me going through many really tough moments – if I can do this I can do anything! The biggest Col of them all, Tourmalet, reaches an altitude of 2115 meters. The top of the ski lift and the most spectacular view from the top. I am so proud of my bike!

The finish line is in sight. Within the next 2 weeks I should reach my final destination in Italy, and hopefully there will be a refreshing Negroni (a very potent cocktail) waiting for me at my favourite bar! All I need to do is survive the heat this time of year along the coast!
